The Institute (IMTI)

It is located in the Command Area of Chambal Valley Development Project, Kota. Three Dam & a barrage viz. Gandhi Sagar Dam, Rana Pratap Sagar Dam, Jawahar Sagar Dam and Kota Barrage are situated near Kota.

It is Situated on Dadabari Road, Kota and is about 12 Kms away from the Kota Railway Station & about 7 Kms from the Roadways Bus Stand.

All modes of transport are available to and from the Institute at these two terminals.

IMTI Kota was established in August, 1984, under the assistance of United States Agency for International Development Programme (USAID).

It is an apex Institute of Rajasthan State for imparting training to the Officers/Officials in :

Water Resources Department,

CAD & Water Utilization Department,

Agriculture Department & Farmers

Objectives:

The main objectives of the Institute are:

To provide training & up dating the knowledge of Officers, officials & Farmers in Irrigation Water Management.
To improve their skills for performing the assigned tasks more efficiently.
To change their attitude & to prepare to adopt latest management practices in the field of Irrigation Management.
To provide training facilities to farmers as per their need / feedback for improved agriculture production in command areas of irrigation projects up to root level for optimum utilization of Irrigation water.
To conduct action & adaptive research.
To Publish literature for the promotion of efficient water use
practices and Water Management to achieve optimum production.
To assist/ advise State Govt. in matters relating to Irrigation Water Management and to motivate Participatory Irrigation Management .
